This week we have been looking at the artist ‘ Raewyn Harris.’ Raewyn is famous for creating Koru art. The Koru is a spiral shaped plant. To people of New Zealand, the Koru represents the unfolding of new life or renewal.

First we looked at and discussed Raewyn’s art work. Next we experimented with different designs inspired by her work. Then we learnt how to blend colours with oil pastels.

Our final pieces look amazing!

I just came across your beautiful art and want to say how fantastic it looks.
It’s a joy for me to see how my paintings have inspired young artists like yourselves.

The children loved looking at your art work and were inspired. I am sure they will be very excited on Monday to see that you have commented!
