As part of our Paws, Claws & Whiskers topic, we have been learning all about big cats!

In Geography, we have learned about the continents and have learned which continents tigers, lions and jaguars live in. We stuck pictures of big cats on to a map of the world to show where they live!

In English, we have been using adjectives to describe big cats – such as ‘stripy tiger’ and ‘spotty cheetah’. Some of us have even remembered that tigers are carnivores (which we learned about in Science!) so we described them as carnivorous – which was a very big word to sound out! We are going to use our adjectives to write sentences later in the week!

In Art, we worked as a team in our groups to paint big cats for our topic display. We enjoyed exploring which colours and patterns were most suited to each cat.

Some of us have also been busy drawing pictures of big cats in the writing area and making models of big cats using the lego!
