In Oaks today we talked about Black History Month. We looked at famous black people from the past and present and discussed what they had achieved. We talked about the meaning behind Black History Month and how we should treat everybody fairly no matter their skin colour. The children really enjoyed learning about Mary Seacole, Rosa Parks, Nelson Mandela, Barack Obama and William Key.

The children have drawn some absolutely fantastic pictures of famous black people. Mrs Farrall came to have a look at their art work and was very impressed too!

Well done Oaks!
