As part of our topic, ‘Bright Lights, Big City’, we have been learning all about the Great Fire of London.

Yesterday, we learned about what the houses in London looked like during that time, and how they were built very close together! We then created our own Tudor houses.

We had a very exciting surprise today. Mr Tomkins and Miss Steele burned our houses down to show us how quickly the fire spread! Even though it was raining, the fire spread really quickly and none of our houses survived!

After we watched the fire burn our houses down, we came back into class and learned all about fire safety. Ask your child some of the rules for fire safety – I’m sure they will impress you!
