Occupational Therapy provides practical support to empower people to overcome barriers preventing them from doing the activities (or occupations) that matter to them. This support increases people’s independence and satisfaction in all aspects of life.

Occupational Therapy can help children and young people to grow, learn, have fun, socialise and play so they can develop, thrive and reach their full potential. Occupations for children or young people may include self-care (getting ready to go out, eating a meal, using the toilet), being productive (going to school or nursery) and leisure (playing with friends and doing hobbies).

Occupational Therapists work to support children and their families to identify and implement strategies, advice and equipment to enable children to lead meaningful occupational lives.

Coming up later this week… ‘Our Project’ and ‘The impact of classroom transitions’.
