Year 1 are learning all about the story ‘Leaf Man’ in English lessons.
The children have enjoyed collecting leaves to create their own stick men pictures. We have spent some time describing our leaves using interesting adjectives – what colour they are, what they look like, how big/small they are, and what they feel like. Yesterday, we picked a leaf as a table and wrote down adjectives to describe the leaf. Today, we began to retell the story of Leaf Man.
Here are some of the sentences the children wrote in English today:
Leaf man is made of oval leaves.
They were damp and rustling.
They were brown and white.
He used to live near the swimming pool with Miss Noon and his dog.
He lived in a stack of leaves.
It was comfy and warm.
We are looking forward to writing the rest of the story over the next few lessons!
