Today, Year 5 Juniper learnt about an artist called Chila Kumari Singh Burman. We learnt a lot about her style of art and her inspirations to create her artwork. An example would be her father being an ice cream man, so a lot of her art work has ice creams on. Her artwork is also full of neon and vibrant colours. The children went on to create a double page spread in their sketch books about the artist. They created their ice cream shapes on sheets of polystyrene before painting and printing to form their background. After this, they followed up with adding a title and some photographs of the artist and her work before adding facts about Chila Kumari Singh Burman all over their page. They turned out great and the children were very pleased with their pieces of art. Well done, Juniper!
