During PE this week, we enjoyed looking at how and why our pulse rate changes.

We looked at resting heart rates and discussed what these might tell us about our fitness levels.

We wrote a hypothesis about the link between the two.  We decided to test the hypothesis by completing a sprint for as long as possible after recording our resting heart rate.

We predicted that those of us with a lower resting heart rate should be able to sprint for longer because we know that professional athletes have a resting heart rate of approx 40 bpm.

We recorded our data on a class database and then created a scatter graph with a line of best fit to draw conclusions about our predictions.
