In our science lesson today, Year 5 Juniper were looking at time. We have been looking at the Earth and Space this half term and have already looked into day and night, but today we delved further to find out how we tell the time.
We learnt all about sundials – how they work, what way the gnomon has to be placed, how to tell if it is AM or PM, before going ahead and designing our own. We then went on to test our sundials to see how they worked – we had to use a torch inside as it was a bit of a grey day!
The children did amazingly well and loved creating their sundials and putting them to the test. Well done, Year 5!
