Wow! Year 4 have had an amazing morning! We were lucky enough to welcome two scientists into our classroom today.
We learned all about DNA and discovered that it acts like a set of instructions, telling living organisms how to grow, function and reproduce. We then carried out a fascinating experiment to extract DNA from a strawberry and were amazed to see it with our own eyes!
Our visitors also taught us about chemical reactions and how a catalyst can speed up a reaction. To demonstrate this, they created the spectacular “Elephant Toothpaste” experiment, which left us all amazed and excited.
