This week we have been learning about Andy Warhol. To begin we went outside to find out lots of facts about Warhol. We know is birth name was Andrew Warhola and he pioneered a new art movement called Pop Art. He loved art and his mum would encourage him by giving him chocolate for each page of his colouring book he completed.

We used his repeated pattern to inspire our art work. As our new topic is about Minibeasts we looked at butterflies. We practised drawing them in detail, then we transferred our drawings onto some styrofoam. We then used this to print a repeated pattern using bold colours like Warhol.

We also created a piece of art by painting the background in four different colour. We then used a butterfly stamp in contrasting colours.
