We had a brilliant day today in Hawthorn. Buddy the elf had organised lots of fun organising games and treats for the children!
Christmas movie night
Fun filled night watching the film Christmas Chronicles one. We really enjoyed our popcorn and hot chocolate, yum yum!
Locating rivers
In Geography we have been using the atlases to locate rivers in the UK. They all worked really hard and did a super job!
Maths treasure hunt
In today’s maths lesson, we had to search for questions around the playground, which related to different things we have learnt. Each answer linked to a letter, which we used to form a word.
Persuasive writing!
Hawthorn have written a letter to an author of their choice to persuade them to come to our school to promote the love of reading. They did a splendid job of persuading the authors!
Digestive system
We placed the biscuits and banana inside the ziplock bag, this represented eating. Added tablespoon of water-the saliva. We then crunched the food up inside the bag-chewing. Then mimicked the action of the stomach by adding acid-the orange juice. We discussed how the mixture moving over to the small intestine. Read more
Dentist
Today Year 4 Hawthorn put on their masks and created models of the different types of teeth. We learnt all about the types of teeth we have and their function. What a super fun lesson. Well done Hawthorn.
Tooth decay experiment!
