Well done to all those children that have been chosen as part of our sports leaders. The children help with activities at lunchtimes and afterschool competitions. We also have our own sports journalist who will be updating our blog with all the sporting activities across school.

After 6 weeks of working with sports journalist, Gareth Walker, Year 6 produced their own opinion pieces are the importance of winning. We were also able to have a Q&A with Gareth around his role and a career in writing and journalism.

For our final piece, Year created a double-page spread about the famous artist, Banksy. We took all of the skills we have acquired throughout the unit, looking at the techniques and meanings behind different artwork, and recreated Banksy’s most famous pieces on the styles we have looked at.

Year 6 completed their hour of code by creating a tennis game in Scratch. They had to crest backgrounds, sprites that move and sense and create a scoring system.
Year 6 looked at recreating the painting ‘Gassed’ by John Singer Sargent. We looked at elements of the painting and then tried to recreate parts of the scene.
