Year 6 took part in a Santa Dash to raise money for charity. We each ran, jogged or walked 1 mile or more, with Christmas music and hot chocolate on hand to keep us going!
We researched different chicken fajita recipes to decide which would be easiest to recreate. From this we used Purple Mash to create our own recipe cards.
Year 6 used their story maps to create a text adventure linked to our English narrative writing. The reader makes text-based choices which decides outcomes for characters. We created pages and used navigation buttons to move to the correct page.
Well done to our Year 5/6 dodgeball team who came in first place. It was great to see new faces representing school for the first time and picking up a medal and trophy too!

As part of our computing topic, we have looked at how to plan a text-based adventure game. We used 2Connect to map out a text-based adventure game based on our current book in English, Hansel and Gretel.
Well done to our KS2 pupils that took part in the Rochdale Sports partnership tenpin bowling competition. They came fourth and Isabelle received a special certificate for scoring over 100 points! Year 6 conducted their own traffic survey as part of our Fieldwork topic. We took a tally of how many cars passed the school, the type of vehicle and the colour of the vehicle. We used this to measure the volume of traffic and its impact on our school.
Well done to Y5/6 athletics squad: second place in the Heywood Sports Partnership athletics competition.
