This week in Reception, we have been busy learning all about our country, England!

We started the week by exploring what makes England special and discovering that our capital city is London. The children were very excited to share what they already knew and were eager to learn more. We looked closely at maps of the United Kingdom and practised identifying where we live.

Our focus story this week was Katie in London. We discussed famous landmarks, and the children enjoyed talking about places they have visited. In our construction area, the children used their creativity and teamwork skills to build their own versions of London landmarks. We saw some fantastic models of towers, bridges, and even whole city scenes!

To end the week, we held an afternoon tea. The children enjoyed coming together to celebrate, practising their manners and spending time with their friends. The children enjoyed eating sandwiches, cakes, crisps and scones. Lots of children thought it was delicious and some of us even tried a cup of tea!
