Parents:

As part of our WW2 topic, Year 6 wrote a letter, describing what it was like to be evacuated. They had to talk about the journey to, and arriving at, the station, what their host family was like, and how much they were missing you.

The children have looked at how to correctly write a letter and prepare envelopes for posting, and have posted their letters home.

Keep an eye out for your letter which should arrive soon! It will also give you the chance to look at piece of independent extended writing – the first your child has produced this new academic year.

We received ours this weekend.

It was lovely to read but also rather poignant.

Thank you

Oh goodness, these letters made me so upset! They were beautifully written, and was truly heartbreaking reading them.
