We had an amazing time for our final forest school session in year 5 today! Quotes from the children included: “That was the best day ever!” and “Can we do it all again?”

We started off the session completing a teamwork task. Everyone had to work as a team to get to the forest school area- without stepping out of the hoops. If children did step out of the hoops, they could have been eaten by crocodiles! Luckily, everyone kept their limbs intact. We then found ducks hidden in the forest and took these with us out of the school grounds to find a suitable stream to release them. Once we found a good spot, the children enjoyed having duck races in the stream. Back at our fire circle, we enjoyed making s’mones (waffle cones filled with marshmallows and chocolate) toasted on the campfire.

All of Year 5 have been fantastic during the sessions and it has been fantastic watching them learning to manage risks, work as a team, play and learn about the environment.
