Floating and Sinking

This afternoon, we have been learning about floating and sinking. We have completed an experiment to see if objects float or sink. Everyone discussed their predictions and what we thought would happen. We used a carrot, cotton wool, a potato, an apple, a lemon and a stick.
We found out that a carrot, cotton wool and a potato all sink. When we put each object into our bowl of water, they all sank to the bottom of the bowl. Then the apple, lemon and stick all floated in the water.
We had lots of fun testing the different objects and learning about floating and sinking.
