Today, we looked at Bible stories about forgiveness and reconciliation. We looked at the lost son, the lost sheep, the lost coin and the unforgiving servant. We discussed what the stories meant and how we can use Jesus’ teachings of forgiveness in our lives today. We then reflected and asked when and why we need forgiveness and why it can be hard to forgive others when we are wronged. After that, we looked at Jesus being crucified and his saying ‘Father, forgive them they don’t know what they are doing’, we thought about what we can learn from this and what it means to ‘practice what you preach’. Lastly, we wrote our own prayers about forgiveness.
