This afternoon, Year 5 Juniper and Pine carried out an experiment in their Science lesson. We have been carrying out a topic called ‘Separating Mixtures’ and have most recently learnt about what formulations are, how they are made and how they can be useful. We carried out an experiment with cordial juice and water. We tried out a formulation containing too much water, too much juice, and the correct amount of each. The children enjoyed tasting the juices and comparing the colours and strengths of the juice. The children realised the importance of getting the formulation correct for achieving the desired end product.
