Maple have been down to the River Roch in Queen’s Park today to carry out an investigation into how fast the river was flowing. We positioned ourselves on the bridge and measured a distance of 10 metres. We then timed (in seconds) how long it took for the object in the water to reach us.

Whilst at the river we also spotted signs of erosion, transportation and deposition. We noticed how the river meandered. Unfortunately we also saw signs of pollution as bits of plastic, old tyres and rubbish were spotted in the water. We made a list of all the physical and human features we spotted whilst walking along the river.

As a treat, on the way back, we spent some time playing on the park equipment. Enjoy our photos!
