For our new Design and technology unit we are learning all about healthy eating.  This week we looked at hidden sugars in drinks.  We had to guess how many teaspoons of sugar were in Coke, Diet Coke, a Smoothie and Strawberry water. We were really surprised that there are 9 teaspoons of sugar in one can of coke!

We then all tried a small amount of regular Coke and Diet Coke. It was really good to hear that the majority of the class couldn’t tell the difference between regular Coke and Diet Coke. This was a really important lesson to prove that hidden sugars can be really bad for your diet so if you are going to drink fizzy drinks we need to make sure we have diet drinks.
