In our new History topic, we have been learning about Christopher Columbus. Today, we focused on the new foods and items he encountered when he travelled to North America. During the lesson, we ‘discovered’ some of these ourselves by using our five senses. For smell and taste, we were blindfolded and sampled pineapple. For sound, we listened to an audio clip and tried to identify it. We then explored an object using a feely bag and finally we examined a zoomed-in picture to work out what it showed. Through these sensory activities, we learned that Columbus discovered foods such as pineapple, turkeys, potatoes and sweetcorn.
Electrical circuits
During our Science lessons, we were given a variety of different circuits to build. Before creating each circuit, we made a prediction based on our prior knowledge about whether we thought the bulb would light Read more
