This morning, Year 5 have taken part in their very own press conference. This week for careers week, Year 5 were given the engineer Mae Jemison to focus on. Throughout the start of the week we were able to learn lots about Mae by watching videos, reading her stories, and even creating a biography poster all about her life! Today was the time for us to be put in the hot seat! We were about to have some time to rehearse in our groups where one person would play Mae Jemison, and the rest of the group would be the press questioning Mae about her life involved with science. The children were able to show their knowledge all about Mae and answer all of the questions in great character! The children rehearsed in their groups before ‘Mae’ came to the front of the class and were questioned by our whole class audience of press! The children were able to answer each question in great detail using scientific language and displayed a great understanding of engineering and why it is important to the world. Well done Year 5, you were great in your press conference!
