Last week, Year 5 Juniper started their new topic in science on magnetism. Today we learnt all about magnets, when they were discovered and how they work. We even learnt that magnets were first found as objects called lodestones! We took part in an experiment to test how magnets attract and repel each other, as well as other items. We used paperclips in our test and found that the magnet was attracted at the north and south pole to a paperclip! We also learnt how to test the strength of a magnet and we were able to make our magnets stronger and attract more paperclips if we added another magnet!
