Making a wormery!

In Science this week we have been looking at microhabitats. We have worked together to make a wormery, we discussed a worms habitat and then went outside to search for worms.  We were looking for three different types of worms – Earthworms (endogeic worms),  Deep borrowers ( anecic worms) and Surface Dwellers (epigeic worms).

Luckily it was raining so a lot of worms had come to the surface of the soil.  The children were really brave and careful picking up worms so we could add them to our class wormery.
