For national storytelling week in Reception, we have been reading and listening to a poem called ‘Earthworms’ by Simon Mole. We have then watched Simon Mole and Gecko perform the poem.
After being inspired by Simon Mole’s poem, we have started creating our own poem. We have carefully thought about our own character for the poem, discussed what our character would do, what voices we would need to perform our poem and the rhythm our poem would have. Reception have been very busy designing and making their own characters. Then everyone has created their own poem.
To finish off storytelling week, we have performed our own poems to our friends. Everyone did a fantastic job!
