Science – Living Organisms and Organ Systems

To begin our science topic – Cells – we looked at what characteristics organisms need have to be classed as living.

We used the term ‘Mrs Gren’ to help us to remember all 7:

Movement, respiration, sensitivity, growth, reproduction, excrete and nutrition.

We then planted cress seeds and looked at how the plants moved towards a light source as they convert sunlight into food (photosynthesis).

We then looked at how organ systems in plants and animals work, and the cells and tissues make up living organisms.
