It was an exciting Challenge Day in Maple as we took part in the Operation Moonbase mission from Skills Builder. The children threw themselves into the task with brilliant enthusiasm and worked on all eight Skills Builder skills: listening, speaking, teamwork, leadership, problem solving, creativity, staying positive, and aiming high.

Our challenge was to imagine a brand-new utopian society on the moon. Using only recycled materials, the children designed and constructed their own models of Utopia.

It was fantastic to see the children communicating clearly, sharing ideas, and adapting their plans when things didn’t go as expected. Many teams showed great resilience and genuine creativity as they experimented with different materials and structures.

By the end of the day, Maple had created a collection of imaginative and thoughtful utopias—each one unique and showing just how well the children can apply their skills when working together.

Well done, Maple! Your teamwork, innovation and determination made this Challenge Day a huge success.
