Today, the whole school completed an assembly on stranger danger. The assembly focussed on helping children to understand what a stranger is, how to recognise unsafe situations, and what to do if they ever feel worried or unsure. We also discussed:

– What the word ‘stranger’ means- understanding that not all strangers look scary, but that we need to be cautious around people we do not know.

– How to stay safe in public places- including never going anywhere with someone the don’t know and always telling a trusted adult where they are.

– What to do if approached by a stranger- saying no, moving away, and finding help from a trusted adult.

– Who are/ the importance of, trusted adults- teachers, police officers, paramedics etc.
