Year 5 Pine – Take 10 Reading Challenge 📚
Year 5 Pine thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the exciting Take 10 reading challenge, joining children from around the world in an attempt to break the world record for the most people reading online at the same time!
We began our session by listening to the inspiring author Frank Cottrell-Boyce, who gave us a fascinating insight into his life as a writer. The children loved hearing about his experiences and discovering how his imagination has helped him create so many wonderful stories, including Millions, Framed and The Astounding Broccoli Boy.
Frank encouraged us to let our imaginations run wild and think about the incredible adventures we could create in our own stories. Pine certainly rose to the challenge, sharing some fantastic and creative ideas!
We then found a comfortable spot, opened our favourite books and enjoyed ten minutes of uninterrupted reading, knowing we were joining thousands of other children in celebrating the magic of books.
It was a lovely opportunity to develop our love of reading, celebrate the power of imagination and be part of something truly special. Well done, Pine! 📖✨
