Year 4 had a fantastic day at Tatton Park. When we arrived, we met an Anglo Saxon villager. She had heard that Vikings were on the way to attack their village and asked if we could help prepare for battle. Everyone got into character and spent the day as Anglo Saxon villagers.
We discovered how to hunt for deer and how the Anglo Saxons were eco friendly and used all the parts of the animal. We helped to grind the grain and make some bread on the fire. We had some warrior training and practised different formations using the shields. Finally, as the Anglo Saxons were expert farmers, we explored the farm and helped out with some jobs.
Luckily, we managed to get back to the coach before the Vikings invaded!
