Since returning to school, Year 5 have been producing some fantastic writing based on an animated clip named ‘The present’. So far in our writing, a computer game obsessed Ben, has just received a special gift from his mum. When Ben opens the gift he is surprised to find a puppy.
To help us with our vocabulary, including boomtastics and fantastics, we have had various experience sessions. We played computer games and outdoor games and spoke about the positives and negatives of each and we opened various gifts and discussed which presents were the best and worst for Ben and the reasons why. Yesterday, we had a very special visitor. A group at a time, the children were surprised with Roxy (Mrs Steel’s dog) Our reactions helped us to write lots of vocabulary for each of the fantastics including feelings, thoughts, speech, action and touch.
The children have really enjoyed the experiences and have produced some fantastic writing.
