Yesterday, our lesson started with discussions about the vandalism of the Marcus Rashford mural in Manchester and the disgraceful racist abuse Rashford, Saka and Sancho have received online after England’s defeat. We learnt about what racism is and how we can all play a part to educate others, and ourselves further, to help fight racism.

We read a book called ‘The Skin i’m in’, this lead in to further discussions about equality and diversity in the story it says…

‘The skin I’m in is just a covering. It cannot tell my story. If you want to know who I am, you have got to come inside and open your heart way wide.’

We felt so strongly about the issues discussed we wrote a poem to ‘The Three Kings’ to show how proud we are of them, thank them for being fantastic role models to us and show that we also feel, just as Rashford said, that ‘Beautiful colours should only be celebrated’.
