This week we have been doing lots of investigations. Our first experiment was to investigate how the level of water in a glass affects the sound made when tapping the glass with a pencil. We filled the glasses with different amounts of water and we had to find out how full the glass must be to make a high pitched sound or low pitched sound.

Our second experiment we went on a sound walk and we created sound maps. We drew a picture of ourself in the middle of a piece of paper then we listened carefully and marked on our paper where we heard the sound (in front, behind, left or right). When we returned to the classroom we created a Venn diagram with things we heard inside school, outside school then in the middle of the Venn diagram we added things we heard in both areas.
