British Science Week in Year 3

Year 3 have had a fantastic time celebrating British Science Week with a range of exciting science and design technology activities.

As part of our Design and Technology learning, we designed our own bread companies and baked delicious loaves of bread. We learned where the ingredients come from and discovered the different stages involved in making bread. The best part was, of course, tasting our finished products!

We also carried out a science investigation to answer the question, “Does toast always land butter side up?” After testing our ideas, we found that the height of the table played an important role in the results.

In addition, we learned about the scientist Ernst Haeckel, who studied living things, including tiny sea creatures. We explored how he used detailed drawings to record his observations and help him understand the natural world.

It has been a fun and engaging week full of curiosity, creativity and scientific discovery!
