As part of British Science week, Year 1 are completing the investigation ‘Changing Apples’. In this exploration, the children delved into the world of apple varieties. They used their senses to describe the apples’ appearances, textures and taste. They discovered the smallest, tallest and widest varieties, making comparisons between each. The apples cores were then put in bags for children to observe over the next couple of weeks and children have made predictions about what will happen to them. They will be documenting the changes through drawings, which is also enhancing their observational skills.
