This week in cookery club, the children have been busy learning how to make simple, healthy sandwiches. The children began by discussing what makes a good sandwich. They explored different types of bread, fillings, and combinations, thinking about taste, texture, and appearance. Making sandwiches might sound simple, but it involves a surprising number of important skills:

  • Spreading

  • Cutting and slicing

  • Assembling

  • Measuring and choosing
    The children evaluated their sandwiches by tasting them and discussing what they liked or might change next time. Safe to say there wasn’t much left at the end. Well done Cookery Club!
