Today Year 5 Juniper completed their Design and Technology unit on cooking and nutrition. Throughout this topic we have looked at how food goes from farm to fork, what nutritional information is and designed our own labels. The last step was to prepare the food and cook it together. We have looked at recipes for Spaghetti Bolognaise over our topic and the different ways in which recipes can be adapted. Today we were able to chop onions, carrots, celery, tomatoes and mushrooms before heading down to the forest school area and cooking our completed spaghetti bolognaise. The children were fabulous chefs and really enjoyed creating the recipe and bringing it to life – especially the part where they could taste it at the end!
