We explored how music can inspire us to respond creatively. Our learning objective was to listen to music and respond creatively, considering how dynamics can be represented.
We listened carefully to three different pieces of music, with each piece representing a different planet. We thought about how each piece of music made us feel and considered the different dynamics, sounds, tempo and mood we could hear.
We then used our imaginations to think about what we believed each planet might look like based on the music we had heard. We used colour, shapes and patterns to create our own representations of the three planets. Some music made us imagine bright, energetic and colourful planets, while other pieces inspired darker, calmer or more mysterious designs.
This activity encouraged us to listen carefully, use our imaginations and express our ideas creatively, while recognising that music can create different feelings and images for different people.
