This week in Reception we have been learning about Diwali. We have been talking about different religions and cultures and their celebrations. We found it very interesting learning about Diwali and finding out how it is celebrated.
To celebrate Diwali we have been very busy completing lots of different activities. Reception have learnt the story of Rama and Sita, we then made puppets and role play masks to act out the story.
We have also been making Diwali cards and colouring in Diwali pictures.
We have learnt that Diwali is the festival of light. So in Reception, we have been making diva lamps. We have made them out of clay and we are going to paint them next week.
Finally, we have been making rangoli patterns in the outdoor areas. We have used paint and chalk in bright colours to create our patterns.
We have had lots of fun this week learning about Diwali and we look forward to learning about different celebrations and festivals.
