Year 4 Maple had a very exciting maths lesson this morning. As part of Financial Awareness week, we took part in some of the NatWest How Money Works activities. We discussed the term ‘budgeting’ and thought about how we earn and spend money.
We all started with £7 in our imaginary piggy bank and worked our way through different decision making cards. We had to track our spending, make choices about items we wanted to buy and monitor the amount in our piggy banks.
Our favourite cards were the ones where we earned more money and surprisingly the children were very good at not overspending!
