This week at Forest School After School Club, the children enjoyed another exciting outdoor adventure filled with practical skills, creativity and teamwork.
We began by learning how to use flint and steel to make our own fires. The children showed great Staying Positive as they persevered and excellent Listening by following safety instructions carefully.
Once the campfire was burning, we made delicious s’mores by toasting marshmallows and sandwiching them between biscuits and chocolate. Around the fire, the children used their Speaking skills to share stories and chat with friends. We also had magic fire and watched the fire turn blue and green.
To finish, we sculpted clay hedgehogs using sticks for spikes. This required Planning and Improving as the children refined their ideas and added thoughtful details.
Throughout the session, the children demonstrated excellent Teamwork, helping one another and celebrating each other’s achievements.
This was our final Forest School After School Club session, and it was a wonderful way to end our woodland adventures together.
