Pine have been investigating irreversible changes this morning. We planned an experiment to answer the question: Does the amount of vinegar affect the amount of new material (gas) created?
We put different amounts of vinegar into 5 separate bottles. We filled 5 balloons with the same amount of bicarbonate of soda. We then attached the balloons to the bottles, mixing the vinegar and bicarbonate together. This caused an irreversible change and created gas within the balloons. We concluded that the more vinegar there was, the more gas that was created.
