This week we have been celebrating England coming second in the Euros, which was a massive achievement. They played so hard and would have been under extreme pressure. Unfortunately some of the players received some racist abuse for missing the penalties. We looked at how everyone is unique and has different colour hair, eyes and skin- we celebrate this in school.

In class the children wanted to show their support to these players and help to put a smile back on their faces. They coloured in some pictures and added some messages to them. Some of these messages were:

  • You’re my dream player
  • It’s not your fault
  • You tried your best and that’s all that matters
  • I’d love to play like you
  • I can’t believe you made it to the final
  • We love you
  • You are amazing
  • Please keeping smiling
  • Don’t be sad- you did fantastic
