In our  ‘Reflective Friday’ worship, we often use something called ‘Picture news’. This is a discussion based on something that is currently in the news and it links both with the Bible and Christian values, and our British values.
We decided to take part in the picture news Christmas challenge, which was for schools to all create a peace chain, measure it and tag ‘Picture news’ in the hope a chain long enough to reach from John O’Groats to Land’s End, could be created.

Each child thought about something that they could do to help spread peace, and talked about how this can begin a chain- if everyone does one small thing this can have a big impact. Each child wrote either a promise, a prayer or a quote, which could help spread peace. We then linked each one to create a 14 foot chain, which is displayed on the school gates. We hope that our parents and other people who pass by, may be inspired to do complete a small act to spread peace too.
