Some year 5 children have continued their journey with other Rochdale schools, working scientifically to identify a problem within our local community that we can solve through scientific enquiry. The session took place at Rochdale Town Hall and began with a guest speaker from Cambridge University who spoke with the children about his work and offered an insight into identifying environmental problems that could be solved through investigation. We also looked at the characteristics of being a scientist and carried out an activity about careers in Science. Next time we meet we will be deciding on what our ‘environmental problems to solve’ will be.
