Last week, Year 4 made their own christingles ready for their Christingle performance at church. We recapped the different parts of the Christingle and what they represent.
Year 6 explored the language used within the Dreadful Menace poem, looking at clarifying the meaning of the language used as well as looking for synonyms to create a bank of vocabulary to use within our writing.

Year 6 took part in a Santa Dash to raise money for charity. We each ran, jogged or walked 1 mile or more, with Christmas music and hot chocolate on hand to keep us going!
Year 6 used their story maps to create a text adventure linked to our English narrative writing. The reader makes text-based choices which decides outcomes for characters. We created pages and used navigation buttons to move to the correct page.

Last year our school council set up a link with a local carehome. This week, our new school council re-established their link by visiting the residents with treats and games. The children showed such kindness, respect and maturity. We are very proud of them 😊
As part of our computing topic, we have looked at how to plan a text-based adventure game. We used 2Connect to map out a text-based adventure game based on our current book in English, Hansel and Gretel.
In our R.E. lesson this week, Year 5 Juniper have been learning about forgiveness. We looked at some of Jesus’ parables (Jesus and the Sinful Woman and The Parable of the Unforgiving Servant) to see how Jesus showed forgiveness towards people and the lessons Jesus wished to teach to people.
