Rowan were excited to take part in Take 10, a special event encouraging children across the world to read for ten minutes in an attempt to set a new world record for the most people reading online at the same time.
The children began by listening to the brilliant author Frank Cottrell-Boyce, who shared insights into his career as a writer. Frank is the author of many popular books, including Millions, The Unforgotten Coat, Framed and The Astounding Broccoli Boy. He has also written screenplays and worked on television and film projects, including The Railway Man and the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Frank inspired the children to think creatively by asking them to imagine what exciting adventures they could go on if they wrote their own story. Rowan had lots of imaginative ideas to share!
The children then settled down with their own reading books and read for 10 minutes, proudly contributing to the worldwide effort to set a new reading record. It was a fantastic way to celebrate our love of reading and to remind us that a great story can take us anywhere! 📚🌍
