We have had such a great day learning about VE Day. We started the day with an assembly from Miss Fisher who told us all about VE Day and why we celebrate it. Afterwards we watched a video about people celebrating and then created a diary entry pretending we had been part of the street parties to celebrate the end of the war.
After break time we then made Duchess soup, this was a really basic soup made using onions, butter, milk, flour cheese and parsley. We were regally surprised how delicious the soup tasted and some of us had seconds! To finish off our day we took part in a 1940’s dance and completed some word searches and colourings about VE Day.
We had a fantastic day and the children looked brilliant in their outfits. Thank you Miss Fisher for organising such a fun day.
